A Missing Component


Growing up through minor hockey all the way to college, I was a part of many teams and programs that offered dryland training designed to enhance on-ice performance. Many of these dryland programs provided a great workout for players and enhanced their on-ice performance as promised. However, as a goalie, I never seemed to experience the same level of performance gains as my teammates. It was not until I gained a greater understanding of biomechanics during my kinesiology studies that I realized that there was a key issue with these dryland programs - they were not designed with the specific needs of a goalie in mind! What a hockey player needs to enhance their on-ice performance is very different from the needs of a goaltender. I aim to change this issue by providing off-ice training that is truly goalie-specific!

What Makes Training
Goalie-Specific?

At the most basic level, I describe goalie-specific dryland training as training that enhances the athlete’s ability to stop pucks efficiently while minimizing injury occurrence. While this is a broad definition, it encompasses qualities such as leg strength in specific and unique joint angles, aerobic capacity, anaerobic power, mobility, flexibility, hand-eye coordination, and balance to name a few. How we accomplish this overarching goal of ‘being a better goalie’ will vary based on the individual. The specific needs of every goalie are going to be unique based on their current strengths, weaknesses, training status, and anthropometric measures to name a few factors. No matter where you are starting, training to address your specific weaknesses holding back your goaltending ability will result in more pucks saved and fewer injuries holding you out of play!

    This service is a blend of online and in-person coaching. It includes an ongoing training program delivered via the TrainHeroic mobile application in addition to in-person training sessions. In-person sessions are also used as a check-in for progress toward your goals. Each package is four weeks in duration, during which you will also gain direct access to me via SMS in the TrainHeroic app.

    Online Coaching + 2 In-Person Sessions: $300+gst

    Online Coaching + 4 In-Person Sessions: $450+gst

    Online Coaching + 8 In-Person Sessions: $810+gst

    *In-person sessions must be used during the 4 week training block. These sessions will be scheduled at the beginning of the block or on a weekly basis. We will work together to schedule in-person sessions in a manner that maximizes your results!

  • This service includes on-going fitness coaching and consulting. Training programs will be delivered via the TrainHeroic mobile application and will be completely custom to individual needs and goals. We will also meet via Google Meet on a weekly basis to assess progress and maintain communication. You will also gain access to me directly via SMS in the training app.

    4-Week Training Block: $250+gst

  • This option involves personal one-on-one coaching. These sessions focus entirely on the steps needed to reach the individual’s goals!

    1 Session: $110+GST

    5 Pack: $500+GST

    10 Pack: $900+GST

  • This 4-week program consists of daily mobility training exercises to help you move better, feel better, and play better! All delivered seamlessly through the Train Heroic app!
